Service Interruption Alert – Import / Export Shipments Will Be Impacted By Hurricane Lane

A category-five hurricane is expected to strike the Hawaiian Islands, USA. The storm is currently packing maximum sustained winds of 160 mph. Damaging winds and heavy rainfall have already begun to disrupt normal business and travel activities in the area. In addition, thousands of people have been asked to evacuate low-lying areas.

The Port of Honolulu and its terminal operations have been closed since Wednesday afternoon in advance of the storm. It is not known yet when operations will be able to return to normal.
