Service Interruption Alert – Expect Delays On India – Outbound Air Shipments

September 19, 2018

Airports in India are currently experiencing severe backlogs in processing outbound shipments, mainly from Hyderabad and Bangalore locations. Premium carriers (Emirates Airlines, American Airlines, Qatar Airways, and United Airlines) supplying household goods and personal effects cargo shipments are facing space / capacity issues for personal effects and household goods — especially outbound to USA and Canada.

British Airways is currently the only carrier accepting household goods air shipments; however, they too are struggling to accommodate bookings due to a rush in the market.

Consequently, customers with air shipments moving from India should prepare for delays as well as additional airport storage charges and possible increase of freight costs imposed by airlines.
