The Federation of European Movers (FEDEMAC) reported today that workers at the Port of Liverpool are preparing to enter into a two-week strike commencing on 19 September. The Liverpool port is the fifth largest in the UK. The pending industrial action comes on the heels of the recent eight-day strike of Unite union workers at the Port of Felixstowe.
Consequently, shipping lines announced that they are already working on contingency plans to utilize alternative ports should the strike at the Port of Liverpool move forward.
Your Arpin Service team is aware of all shipments that may be impacted and will ensure appropriate parties are kept informed of any potential service disruption. Please do not hesitate to contact the UK service team for advice and guidance on alternative ports to route into or with questions regarding additional charges that may be incurred.
