Service Interruption Alert: A Strike by Union Crews at Canadian National Railway Company Expected to Cause DelaysNovember 21, 2019
We would like to inform you of the strike by union crews operating the Canadian National Railway, the country’s largest railroad, now in its second day. More than 3,000 workers voted to strike shortly after midnight on 19 November citing concerns over long hours, fatigue, and dangerous working conditions.
Consequently, since rail is the main source of container transportation from point of entry to inland terminals, we are advising customers with import or export shipments to prepare for some delays as well as additional port storage, demurrage, and various other charges which may be assessed.
Your Arpin Service team is aware of all shipments that may be impacted and will make arrangements to ensure appropriate parties are kept informed of any potential service disruption.
