Service Interruption Alert: Upcoming Holidays in India Will Impact Household Goods Shipments

April 03, 2019

Dear Valued Clients and Supplier Partners,

Cargo services in India will be affected for a short duration between April 17-21, 2019 due to the following holiday observances:

  • April 17: Mahavir Jayanti – All government organizations such as banks, ports, etc. will remain closed
  • April 18: The following Indian states – Karnataka, Maharashtra, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal shall contest polls as per the updated General Elections 2019 schedule
  • April 19: Good Friday
  • April 20 and 21: Easter weekend

These dates, combined with the long weekend, will likely result in delayed customs clearance processing for inbound and outbound cargo, delayed bookings on board vessels and aircraft, and delayed transportation services across all modes of transport.

Your Arpin service team will be contacting all customers impacted by the delays to set up individualized contingency plans. We will continue to do everything possible to minimize service interruptions and manage the expectations of the relocating families to the best of our ability.
