Mark Greene, senior vice president for Arpin Group, joins the International Association of Movers newly-established GSA Subcommittee. The GSA Subcommittee’s role is to facilitate the exchange of information and ideas among colleagues actively involved in moving professions. Subcommittee members will provide their unique perspective directly to the Government Congressional and Regulatory Committee (GCR) to assist in its efforts to represent IAM membership in advocacy before the U.S. Congress, U.S. DOD, and other federal agencies.
“We are proud of the commitment to continued professional development that Mark has demonstrated by taking on a leadership advisory role with the IAM and also having recently earned the Trusted Moving Specialist designation,” said Peter Arpin, president of Arpin International Group. “He has excelled as a leader at Arpin, and we are excited for his continued professional growth.”
The IAMTrusted Moving Specialist is a professional credential bestowed by the International Association of Movers upon individuals who have satisfactorily completed the required IAM learning courses and successfully passed a written exam. The ITMS designation formally recognizes industry members who demonstrate their commitment to providing professional service to their customers and trading partners through acquiring and mastering industry knowledge, skills, and globally accepted industry standards.
“I was surprised at how comprehensive the training was. One thing that I really liked that was said was about unconscious competence. That is the high level that we are all trying to achieve, and the analogy to a magic trick was great! You have to practice your trade until it is basically second nature, like muscle memory. This course gave a nice overview of the entire process and was helpful in explaining all the roles that are played in a move and how they intersect,” said Greene.
Greene’s impressive 30-year career in the moving and storage industry, focusing on servicing the U.S. Government / General Services Administration (GSA) line of business, prepared him to bring a keen insight to the GSA Subcommittee. He began his journey at Arpin as a college intern in 1991, and after earning his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Bryant College, he joined Arpin full-time in 1994. Throughout his tenure, he held various positions, including Alaska relocation coordinator, GSA manager, and vice president GSA international, ultimately leading to his current role as senior vice president. In this capacity, Greene oversees Arpin Group’s domestic and international GSA relationships and services. Under Greene’s management of the GSA business segment, Arpin has consistently achieved exceptional Customer Satisfaction Index scores.
Additionally, Greene is a member of Arpin Group’s Management Committee and represents Arpin at most foreign and domestic transportation-related organizations such as FIDI, LACMA, IAM, WERC, GWERC, etc.
