Peter Arpin. Partner. Peter Arpin is the fourth generation of Arpin family members to run the company first established in 1900 by his Great Grandparents. He assumed his current responsibilities as Partner of Arpin International Group in 1989, and also runs its Alaskan and Canadian divisions. During his tenure at Arpin, the company has grown from a single company with annual sales of $5 million, to a group of eight companies with revenue in excess of $180 million. Peter also serves as a member of the company’s Executive Committee and Board of Directors.
Peter’s entrepreneurial spirit is evidenced by his latest business ventures. In 2008, he became President of two new Arpin Group companies, Arpin Renewable Energy and Arpin Broadcast Network, LLC. Arpin Renewable Energy is responsible for all internal environmental auditing across all Arpin Group companies. Peter currently leads a central group of five people working on low-carbon growth Research and Development initiatives. Arpin Broadcast Network (ABN) is the first web-based television network dedicated to the moving and storage industry. ABN provides the online visitor with dynamic images and multimedia support giving them a powerful e-learning toolset to help facilitate the moving process.
Kelly O’Shea Swanson. President. Kelly assumed her current responsibilities as President of Arpin International Group in 2002. In this capacity, she provides the executive leadership to the company’s international office locations. She serves as the point person to manage Arpin’s local presence, resolves issues, and manages the day-to-day affairs of the organization. Kelly was one of the original-founding members, joining the firm in 1989. Under her direction, the company has continued to grow at a rate of ten percent per annum and remains virtually debt free. In addition, she is Senior Vice President of Administration for Arpin Group, Inc. Prior to her appointment as President, Kelly was responsible for overseeing Arpin International Group’s Commercial Division. She also worked in Arpin’s domestic division holding a position in Agency Settlement.
Among her outside activities, Kelly enjoys sporting activities and spending time with family and friends. She is a youth lacrosse coach and serves on the board of the local lacrosse organization. She is married and the mother of two children.
Kelly lives in Rhode Island, and earned a B.A. in Organizational Behavior from Brown University.
Bob Sullivan. Sr. Vice President Commercial Division. Bob has over 20 years experience in the moving and storage industry, including multiple domestic and overseas assignments. His primary responsibilities focus on commercial business development and implementing the overall growth strategies of Arpin Group, Inc. In addition, he represents Arpin at most foreign and domestic transportation-related organizations such as FIDI, LACMA, PAIMA, HHGFAA, ERC, etc. Bob received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Providence College and his Master of Business Administration from the F.W. Olin School of Management at Babson College.
Mark Greene. Sr. Vice President Government Services Administration Services. Mark began his career at Arpin working as a college Intern. Upon earning his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Bryant College, he joined Arpin on a full-time basis. During his tenure, he has held positions as Alaska Relocation Coordinator, GSA (General Services Administration) Manager, and Vice President GSA International, leading him to his current position as Senior Vice President GSA Services. In this capacity, Mark is responsible for overseeing Arpin Group’s domestic and international GSA relationship and services. During the time Mark has been managing the GSA business segment, Arpin has maintained exceptional Customer Satisfaction Index scores.
Berlina Sim. Director of Arpin International Group – Asia. Berlina Sim has worked in the household goods moving and storage industry for almost 20 years. She began her career as a Sales and Marketing Executive at KC Dat, a freight company that later diversified into relocation services. She then worked for Asian Relocation Management and Pricoa, also in Sales and Marketing Executive roles, before joining Interdean.Interconex as Assistant Director Regional Sales for the Asia Pacific region in 2003.
Berlina joined Arpin International Group in December 2006 and continues to be based in Singapore. She is responsible for the overall management of Arpin’s Singapore and Hong Kong Strategic Service Centers. Berlina’s strengths lie in her proven leadership abilities, comprehensive knowledge of the APAC region, client account management, and operational management capabilities.
Hans Oelze. Director of Arpin International Group – Germany. Hans Oelze is a seasoned relocation professional having worked in household goods and shipping-related industries for the past 49 years. He began his career, working at freight forwarders Kuhne & Nagel and Karl Geuther in Bremen, Germany.
In 1969, Hans joined Dean Van Line, and subsequently went to work for Interdean Interconex until 2004. During his tenure, his international assignments included working at the company’s subsidiaries in Brussels, Belgium; Napels, Italy; and, Hannover, Munich, and Frankfurt, Germany.
Among his outside activities, Hans enjoys collecting fine Bordeaux wines and traveling. In addition, he is an accomplished musician playing the piano, guitar, and tenor banjo.
Dee Hulse. Director of Arpin International Group – Ireland. Dee Hulse has over 30 years experience in the international freight forwarding business. She began her career in 1972, working for Stuttaford Van Lines, located in Johannesburg, South Africa. During her tenure with Stuttaford, she worked in many facets of the industry including sales, operations, import and export, as well as domestic moving.
During the late seventies, Dee went to work in the same capacity for Frasers International and later when the General Manager of Fraser opened up his own relocation company, Elliott International, Dee was recruited into that organization. The company rose to become one of the foremost recognized relocation companies in South Africa.
Following a short time at home when her daughter Merran arrived, Dee returned to the industry to work once more for Frasers International, then part of the Laser Group. Frasers had lost its identity during the merger, and Dee was instrumental in re-establishing the brand in the South African marketplace. Prior to her immigrating to Ireland, the company had won many large corporate accounts.
Dee was recruited by Arpin Group in 2009 to head its first Strategic Service Center in Ireland. Under her direction, the company has grown and continues to increase its market share exponentially.
Philip Hamill. Director of Arpin International Group – United Kingdom. Philip Hamill is a relocation professional who has been involved in international transportation since 1977. For the last 16 years, Philip’s focus has been in the international household goods moving and storage industry. In 1992, Phil joined Interconex Europe Ltd. as Marketing Manager. After only two years with the company, he was asked to take over the company’s start-up operation in Singapore. This afforded Phil the opportunity to combine his sales acumen with his in-depth operational knowledge and experience an international relocation. Due to the success of Interconex’s Singapore operation, Phil relocated to Hong Kong in 1997 where he managed all of Interconex’s operations in Asia.
Phil’s success in Hong Kong led to him returning to Interconex’s European headquarters in London in 1999 as Managing Director. Following Interdean’s and Interconex’s merger in 2001, Phil relocated to New York to take over the responsibilities of Sales & Marketing for the U.S.A. and Asia.
In 2003, Phil relocated back to London to join Arpin and become one of the founding members of Arpin International Group, U.K. This was Arpin’s first Strategic Service Center located outside of the U.S. and it has been a model for other Strategic Service Centers outside of the U.S. Since its founding, the UK Service Center has experienced tremendous growth from having achieved $500,000 in revenues in 2003 to nearly $6 million in revenues in 2007.
Phil has certificates in Finance of International Trade, Law of Carriage, Elements of Commercial law, Commerce in International Trade and Marine Insurance.
Vince Parry. Director of Arpin International Group – Canada. Vince began his career in the transportation industry in 1969 in Liverpool, England. By 1973, he had progressed to supervisor of consular exports at a leading freight forwarding company. Later that same year, Vince emigrated to Canada and began working in the same capacity at a Toronto-based company.
Vince decided to concentrate on the international side of the business in 1975, working as an export manager for a well-respected international moving company. Employing his skills as an experienced freight forwarder, Vince was able to assist the company gain a leadership position in the Toronto market.
In 1984, Vince was selected to expand the Canadian operations of a multinational moving company. In four years, he was able to successfully grow the operation to include five additional offices within the country, all operating in the black. In 1989, this company sold its interest to a Hong Kong-based company, where Vince continued until 1993. Subsequently, he opened his own freight forwarding business, which he continues to operate today. As the license holder for Arpin International Group in Canada, Vince and his team have brought a wealth of experience to Arpin Group’s North American operations.
